The combat club is a group of WVU students that are making Medieval period weapons and clothing to attempt in re-creating the style of combat performed in a pre-firearm period. We practice using 'soft' weapons that are designed to not cause severe pain or produce bruising. These weapons are well designed using home materials covered in several layers of soft foam for longevity and for the sakes of our own lives. We make this group in response to growing local interest and to participate in the east coast events that are hosted by the time tested Dagorhir parent affiliation. This Dagorhir was established in the 1970's and has continued to grow in size across the nation since. These events we prepare for are highly organized and their rules are well written out. Anyone can find this information on the parent organization's website www.dagorhir.com As an upstart group we are also petitioning to them to allow us to create our own chapter located within the WVU area open to all students.
